Exploring Social Enterprise as a Pathway to Sustainability
Mar 29, 2017
In line with our third strategic focus area, ‘Building a Sustainable Organisation’, Sydney is trialling a self-funded employment and training program. Social enterprise is a steep learning curve for the non-profit sector and Whitelion is trialling a number of projects around the country. Whitelion’s Sydney team hosted the launch of Grounded, a café in Mt Druitt that will employ and train young people with the profits of the café funding the ongoing operations of the program. Grounded is delivered in partnership with Charlie Coffee, and we would like to acknowledge Whitelion partners Grant Thornton, Schweppes and Blacktown City Council for supporting the project.
