Building Innovation Into Our Employment Programs.

In keeping with our strategy of consolidating services and efficiently achieving impact, our Tasmanian leaders are contributing to Whitelion’s push towards vocational pathways programs that close the gap between disengagement and isolation and training and employment.  The new Pathways Program is a great example, where Whitelion has partnered with two training providers who have developed tailored courses to help young people from Whitelion’s employment and mentoring programs gain workplace skills before they are connected to a job opportunity. The training is delivered to small groups and involves as much laughter as learning – which is contributing to the young people enjoying what they learn.  As one program participant puts it, “I really enjoy coming to Whitelion and meeting the Whitelion People as they are the only adults who listen to me and I can trust to share stuff with.”
