The 10th annual Eureka Climb in Melbourne attracted a record number of participants and left Whitelion on a high, with a stunning $220,000 raised to support our work with young people.

Participants climb 88 floors (1,642 stairs) to reach the top of Australia’s tallest residential building.

This year, we had a record 2,700 registered participants including over 160 paramedics from Ambulance Victoria and a large group of firefighters and riot police – all climbing in their full service uniforms on 19 November. It was very impressive!

We were also thrilled to have a team of Whitelion staff climb the tower, along with a couple of our young people: there was an overwhelming sense of pride when they reached Level 88.

Some of our corporate partners also participated and fund-raised – a massive thank you to Asahi, IRESS, Southern Cross Recycling, Minter Ellison and BWired.

Whitelion’s social enterprise Wheelly Good Coffee served coffee on the day, ensuring all participants, volunteers and staff were adequately pumped.

Whitelion has been a charity partner of the Eureka Climb since its inception, along with Interplast, a not-for-profit providing free surgery in developing countries.

The Eureka Climb is a very special event offering participants the chance to challenge themselves, and pursue a goal, while supporting the work we do here at Whitelion.

Massive thank you to everyone who got involved to celebrate the 10th year of the Eureka Climb!
