We laughed, we cried and we were empowered at Leading The Pride
Dec 14, 2018
On Thursday 11th of October, Whitelion celebrated International Day of the Girl in a way we never had before. With the support of a number of companies and people, including IRESS, Pesel & Carr, My Perfect Cosmetics Company, The Langham Melbourne and Penny Lane, Whitelion hosted its Inaugural Leading The Pride – High Tea at the Langham Hotel.
200 passionate guests attended the afternoon, which was based on the theme of the empowerment of women and the importance of women banding together to lead the way for future generations. Whitelion Ambassador, Penny Lane was an amazing supporter of the event and the MC on the day. Well-loved comedian, Meshel Laurie was our keynote speaker, followed by Whitelion young person & Fruit2Work Administrator, Maddison, who did an outstanding job of sharing her story with the room and highlighting the challenges faced by young women in today’s society.
We could not have asked for a better inaugural event, and were overwhelmed with the positive responses from all attendees! We raised over $7,000 in about 35 minutes through our raffle ticket sales, and welcomed over 100 new people to our Whitelion pride. A massive thank you to all who made this event possible, and we look forward to growing it in 2019 and beyond!
