Three mountains, three states, 33 hours & 160 outstanding individuals. The Whitelion Three Peaks Challenge took place over the third weekend of March, for its 13th year running, and proved the event is getting better with age!

For those unaware, the challenge sees brave participants summit Mt Tennent in the ACT, Mt Kosciuszko in NSW & Mt Bogong in VIC all in just 33 consecutive hours. The event is fast becoming one of Whitelion’s highest fundraising event, with 160 participants raising over $330,000! A phenomenal effort!

We knew this year was going to be special when the event sold out within 48 hours of registrations going live online. Training kicked off in both Sydney & Melbourne last year in December, with our amazing guides and participants braving the blaring sun of summer each Saturday or Sunday morning to get plenty of kilometres in the legs before the event. Our Three Peaks Challenge is a huge commitment and we are so grateful to each and every one of the dedicated people that sign up and take it on!

We were lucky this year (unlike last year) that Mother Nature was kind to both our groups, with beautiful hiking conditions over majority of the weekend. Our luck continued with the amazing team of individuals who took on the role of Support Crew at various stages of the event. These people make the event run like clockwork, and we are forever grateful for all the work they put in behind the scenes! And of course, our incredible team of volunteer guides, who take on the responsibility of leading the group to the summit of all mountains, and support the participants through every emotion that comes with hiking three of Australia’s biggest mountains, back to back over just a couple of days!

We honestly could not be more thrilled with the result of our 13th Three Peaks Challenge. A huge thank you to our event sponsor 460degrees, thanks to your incredible support the event was even more successful than we could have imagined.
