SA program is working to re-engage young people

Whitelion delivers an assertive outreach case management services across metro Adelaide, the Yorke Peninsula, some regions within the Adelaide Hills and Murraylands, and Mount Gambier.

This program goes out to meet young people in the environments where they feel most comfortable. We are able to better engage and reach more young people by meeting them in these environments.

The young people targeted through this program are highly disengaged, this may be from their education, employment or community. To support their reengagement we use a restorative practice framework to support them in developing healthier interpersonal relationships. In order for the most effective results we ensure we provide these young people with weekly face to face support.

The ultimate goal of the program is to support young people’s transition back into mainstream education and/or employment and training opportunities. We have seen great results with this program, many of the young people who have been involved in the program have made huge personal strides forward. We are excited to continue this program and see more young people’s lives be positively impacted by it.
