JAX Tyres is a true champion of the Whitelion employment program

Michael Failla, owner of JAX Tyres  in Melbourne’s north, is a Whitelion champion – and a great example of an employer willing to give a young person a go. For the past two years Michael has interviewed and employed a number  of young people supported by Whitelion’s Employment Program. 

Michael has enormous empathy and shows the flexibility that is important when supporting young people with barriers to work. When a few of the young people working at JAX decided the industry was not for them, Michael  understood and gave them a positive send off.  A standout moment was when Michael worked with Whitelion to give one young man five separate opportunities to interview for a job – and on the fifth attempt the young man was offered the role. 

Michael consciously works to give the young people employed at JAX tyres a positive experience at work to help them build their confidence and sense of connection to a community where people want them to succeed.
