Since joining Whitelion almost 12 months ago, leadership renewal has been a key feature of our change journey. While the CEO is the face of the organisation, it is the board that oversights and leads through good governance, strategy, risk and performance. I am delighted to introduce our board of directors consisting of diverse talent, expertise and a shared passion and commitment to advance the lives of ‘at risk’ young people. – Hang Vo
Pauline Spencer, Chair
Pauline Spencer was appointed Chair in March this year. She was appointed as a Magistrate in 2006. She currently sits at Dandenong Magistrates’ and Children’s Courts. Prior to her appointment Pauline worked as a lawyer in private practice, as the Principal Legal Officer for the Fitzroy Legal Service and as Executive Officer of the Federation of Community Legal Centres. As well as building a cohesive and effective team, Pauline brings to the board insight into the issues affecting at risk young people in the justice system and continuously seeks community solutions.
Jay Vasiliou, Treasurer
Jay is a Director for Audit and Assurance at Grant Thornton, one of the world’s leading independent assurance, tax and advisory firms. His role at Grant Thornton includes providing advice and resolutions which address the key financial and accounting risks faced by his clients. His qualifications include a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) and he is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia.
Rod Jones, Deputy Chair
After 11 years of working across four continents Rod returned to Australia in 2003 to commence as the CEO of Profusion PAC Pty Ltd. in 2004. Being a start-up in 2004, Rod led Profusion into becoming Australia’s largest recruitment business that focusses solely on the Banking and Financial Services sector. Rod has a Bachelor of Business and Graduate, Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Shayne La Combre
Shayne La Combre was appointed CEO of the PICAC in December 2012. He has been a Board Member since February 2011 and has been instrumental in the continuous expansion of the training centre. Prior to this, Shayne was Director of Plumbing at Victoria’s plumbing industry regulator, the Plumbing Industry Commission. Shayne’s qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Public Policy, Degrees in Business and Law and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Kathryn Anderson
Kathryn Anderson is an executive with more than 25 years’ experience as a public servant for the Commonwealth, Queensland and Victorian governments. Kathryn has been the Deputy Secretary, Corporate Services at Victoria’s Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning since April 2015. Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts, Graduate Certificate in Business and a Company Directors Diploma.
Ross Hamilton
Ross is a Partner of PwC with in excess of 25 years of professional real estate experience and regulatory works across Australia and within South-East Asia. Ross has a diverse range of public and private sector experience; however across the preceding 15 years his focus has principally been around the provision of core real estate advice and services to government. He has been a long term volunteer with Salvation Army and offers pro-bono support in the development of the Victorian Pride Centre. His qualifications include Bachelor Degrees in Economics (Accounting) and Business (Property), a Graduate Diploma in Property (Valuation) and a Certificate IV: Alcohol and other Drugs and Mental Illness.
