Announcement – exciting new chapter for Co-founder and Founding CEO, Mark Watt
Nov 01, 2019
We are sad and excited to announce that after 20 years, Co-founder and Founding CEO Mark Watt leaves Whitelion in December to start a new chapter in his life. Mark will continue to positively impact ‘at risk’ young people’s live by taking his passion for prevention, innovation and social enterprise to new opportunities.
From 2020 Mark takes up two exciting roles -
Director – Social Engine Australia
Social Engine is a social enterprise that ‘powers young people into employment’. It runs PAWS pick and pack warehouse in Dandenong, Wheelly Good Cafes at Docklands Library and North Melbourne Metro Tunnel work site and will soon be launching an innovative Street Legal Coffee Van in Frankston. Social Engine provides employment for at risk young people and will continue to maintain a close partnership with Whitelion.
CEO, In2Life and Big Brothers Big Sisters Australia
The integration of Big Brothers Big Sisters Australia and Stride Prevention program into In2Life provides a unique opportunity for Mark to consolidate and expand mentoring and school prevention programs across Victoria and interstate.
We thank Mark sincerely for his enormous contribution not only to building Whitelion to become the wonderful organisation it is today but more importantly, the impact he’s had on young people at risk. Mark’s dedication and commitment over many decades earned him a Member of the Order of Australia in 2018.
We look forward to collaborating well into the future as Mark will always be a very dear friend and champion for Whitelion.
